Tired of searching for pet-friendly hotels while on vacation? Perhaps you should visit Singapore on your next trip, where construction has just finished on a five-star hotel designed just for your furry friends. In fact, the Wagington Hotel doesn’t even take human guests — it’s only for animals. The hotel offers many of the same services found in people hotels, with suites that can cost as much as $270 each night. Here’s the official description from the hotel’s Facebook site: “The Wagington offers arrays of services for the country’s most discerning pets. From boarding, spa, daycare, leisure swim, training and retail shopping, the hotel is an icon brilliantly reinvented for the 21st century, where the glamour of owning an animal companion sparkles with new luster.” According to the site, the Wagington is for “Uncompromised extravagance & contentment. Only for the most pampered paws.” The hotel features a bone-shaped pool, treadmills for doggy exercise, limo rides to and from the hotel, and a special puppy spa. Naturally, all of these options are charged on top of the base room rate; if you want your dog to visit any of the Wagington’s more interesting venues, you’ll have to open your wallet. Still, it’s an interesting option for those who can afford it. Who wouldn’t want to send their dog to a special hotel in which a staff member will personally escort him around the grounds, take him for swims, and give him lots of loving attention?
